pArt of Science
As researchers, when we explore something, we are passionate about sharing it in a way that would be received more easily.
We write articles; we do presentations, and visual materials: photography, microscopy images, basic sketches, detailed illustrations, 3D models, are often the best narrators of our research.
Visual communication tools are powerful ways to grab the attention of the audience and enhance the memorability of the subject. Similarly, throughout my research, I needed visual materials to tell my story.

Meet the Team!
Dr. Baldemir is a bioengineer and researcher specialising in biomaterials and tissue engineering. She holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, where she was part of the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Group. Her doctoral thesis was awarded the Mike Sellars Medal and Prize in recognition of the excellence of her thesis in materials science. She also received first place in the Engineering Sciences category of the 2020 Doctoral Researcher Awards (DRA) in the UK. During her PhD, she was invited as a visiting researcher to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard-MIT Biomedical Engineering Center, where she conducted collaborative research through the prestigious Battelle-Jeff Wadsworth Fellowship. In 2025, she was awarded support through TÜBİTAK 2247-D National Young Leaders Programme.
Dr. Baldemir leads the BaldemirLab, where her research focuses on cellular agriculture and the development of functional, emulsion-templated scaffolds (PolyHIPEs) for tissue engineering applications. Her work bridges soft and hard tissue strategies, with a particular emphasis on interface tissue engineering.
