We write articles; we do presentations, and visual materials: photography, microscopy images, basic sketches, detailed illustrations, 3D models, are often the best narrators of our research.
Visual communication tools are powerful ways to grab the attention of the audience and enhance the memorability of the subject. Similarly, throughout my research, I needed visual materials to tell my story.

Meet the Team!
Dr Baldemir is a bioengineer and researcher specialising in biomaterials, tissue engineering and cellular agriculture. She received her PhD from the University of Sheffield, UK, where her doctoral thesis was awarded the Mike Sellars Medal and Prize for excellence in materials science. She also received first place in the Engineering Sciences category of the 2020 UK Doctoral Researcher Awards. During her PhD, she joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a visiting researcher through the competitive Battelle-Jeff Wadsworth Fellowship.
Dr Baldemir has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, predominantly in Q1 journals, including ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Biomacromolecules, Nature Reviews Urology, Biomaterials Science and Polymer. Her research has been featured on journal covers. In 2025, she was selected for funding through the TÜBİTAK 2247-D National Young Leaders Programme, a flagship programme supporting outstanding early-career researchers. Across this award and additional projects funded through the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB) B Group R&D Programme, TÜBİTAK 1005 and 1002-A programmes, and the Research Universities Support Programme (ADEP), she has secured more than ₺13 million in competitive research funding as principal investigator.
She leads BaldemirLab, where she supervises undergraduate, MSc, and PhD researchers and leads interdisciplinary projects spanning regenerative medicine, advanced scaffold engineering, and sustainable food biotechnology.
